WOYWW 177 ...I'm knitting again

Is it really Wednesday …. not really sure where the weekend, let alone the week went … but we did go to a small Family Fun Day in aid of ‘Maggies’, on Sunday ... but I forgot my camera.  Vicki and I did some baking to donate to the cake stall her sister was running …and we had a really good time, which I have to admit I was not expecting....usually not my thing.

Here I am making a  …..well …what am I making??? ….that is the question …but I expect most of you know…the answer is at the end in case there are a few who don’t.
I still have not done much crafty tidying …in fact I seem to have managed to loose things I had already found when I did my tiny tidy a couple of weeks ago…. so … feeling really frustrated, I turned to my knitting and started a jumper ….just a simple one …the same as a blue one I made earlier in the year which is so comfy for every day….and so practical with its elbow length sleeves.
I am not a fast knitter but I did this much in four evenings and I am very pleased.

Thought I would now give you a Feline Fix again.

Wanda … I really must tell you her story one day.

Smudge …just about fitting in to the basket that Ellie and Barnaby love.

And China  ….giving him some loving
Must sign off before this gets too long…but before I go …what was I making? ….
Tassels …. for an other triangular scarf …made from Josart’s pattern …I just make mine a little chunkier … as it’s so cold up here in Bonny Scotland.

I didn’t get round to all that many on  week 175...only about 40 …then missed last week…  as ever, will try to do better.

Take Care xx

PS Maggie’s is the name of a group of Cancer Centres named after th lady who had the idea …they are there to help at any stage of the illness …the first opened 10 years ago, 6 months after her death, and Fife’s centre opened  in 2006.

Talk about me getting through a lot of crochet?! You,ve done so well knitting you lovely jumper! I knit and crochet in the car whilst DH drives , I must add and as we seem to travel so much I get a lot done and all in what would otherwise be waste time. Love your fluffy babes

I'm the slowest knitter in the world but I found a solution: get other people to do it once I realised that I just don't enjoy it! I too had to scroll down to see what you were making. Then, of course, it became obvious and I love your tassel template.

Happy WOYWW.

I thought it was a weird way of making pompoms! Tassles eh? Will have to show the girls!

Love your puddy cat pictures and yes, would love to read some of their stories and how you ended up with so many!

Have a great week Angie :) Carry on knitting - the proper winter weather is supposed to hit us (at least in Kent) next week! Been very misty but not that cold here this week.

Great knitting, I love the colour! Your tassel template looks clever too. Enjoy! Helen, 19

Love the mottled colours on your knitting. Good job there (and who cares how quick it gets done - know the feeling well!) Happy WOYWW, hugs Buttons #6

Doesn't matter how long it takes to knit, as long as you're enjoying it thats all that matters. Love the kitty pics, especially smudge wedged into that little hanging bucket bed, too cute.
Happy Wednesday

Hi Shozzy
I think the knitting is great. I used to knit all the time, great big fairisles for Tom and loads for the kids but I only seem to knit socks now.
I must ask you.... do your cats fight each other much?
I only have the 5 but they don't seem to like each other much. the father was feral so I wonder if that has some thing to do with it, even though we picked them up from birth they still don't like being cuddled and struggle to get down.
Maybe they will improve as they get older, they are only 4

Hi there. your cats look so cute, especially smudge, all curled up! Hope you have a good week. I thought at first you were making a pom pom, tassel is better!

Oh what gorgeous, gorgeous kitties, Angie - I love the pic of the one in the little soft container on the post! I need a weekly kitty fix at least - kitties do one so much good don't they!

Love the knitting. Mine that I started months ago has been gathering dust, and I must pick it up again now I've got a bit more energy - I had hoped to finish it in time for winter.

I knew straight away what your first pic was - I've made templates like this for tassels - such a simple idea and so effective, and you're guaranteed consistent results every time.

Thanks for your lovely comment about my art journal page - if you haven't already done so, hop over to my latest blog post and see full details of how I did it, and the pic of the finished page, which you can enlarge.

Happy WOYWW,

Glad you told us it was tassels as I cold only think of pom poms and it just wasn't quite right for those. Thanks for stopping by BJ#8

So cool, that cat-sitting basket. Love it. I am such a slow knitter I bet that cat would have exhausted all 9 of it's lives before I got one done!

Angie, Wanda looks so sweet... a lot like our Bootsie. And I really would like to hear her 'story'.

As for knitting/crochetin, I enjoy these also. But my creative urges seem to come in cycles. Right now clay has my attention.

That's such nice knitting! I'm really wanting to try and knit myself a blouse--but I'm a little intimidated--what if it turns out crooked? Horrors! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #13

Hi Angie, it had to be a tassel ... must take another look at the pattern for the scarf you're making - I have an itch to do a bit of knitting again but as it's a good few years since I last picked up the knitting needles it will have to be easy. I think you did incredibly well to knit that much in such a short time - lovely colour too.

I always enjoy the photos of your cats and I'm impressed that two cats can get into that tiny little basket :))

Happy WOYWW, what's left of it, and have a great week. Elizabeth x #114

I knew it was tassels and not pom poms! But the design of the card is a great idea, I might steal that for use with the kids at school, if that's ok? You're doing really well with the knitting, nice and even too. I must make myself one of Jo's scarves - she had one at the crop and the tassel ends just set it off!

Those are some happy cats you've get there! Can't believe you've knitted that much and then state you're not a quick knitter! I guessed pompom at first but then I thought the card wasn't the right shape, not far off! I'm pretty sure I've had the fishcakes at that chippy in Anstruther, and they were really good.... this would have been about 20 years ago!! I'll write up the banana recipe, it was made up for the most part though.

Hugs

PS, thanks for the help with my poor pumpkin!! You were the only person to say "I could....but it looks good the way it is". thank you so much for that!!!

I adore your cats! All of them are gorgeous. My Mom always used to knit, I am pretty sure me & my sister & two brothers never ever had a 'shop bought' cardigan or jumper. And they outlasted everything else. My Mom passed down to me for my boys jumpers that we had all worn when younger, and then I passed them on afterwards. So that made them 20+ years old- they're probably still being worn somewhere, lol.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #107

Oh my goodness. compared to me you are a very fast knitter...I can't keep my tension no matter how hard i try so i would have picked out a zillion rows by now. yours look great and i agree, elbow length sleeves are the way to go. I get too hot if they are full length!

Your cats are gorgeous..especially the one in the little fabric hanging basket.

Happy kitties for sure! Nice jig set up for making tassels. And really like the coloring of the new jumper, you said. Wow! That's a lot of knotting. Nan 27

Your knitting looks good - I find it relaxing - as long as the pattern is fairly straighforward. I am making a waistcoat for Maxine for Xmas. have a good week. x Jo

WOW Angie I like the looks of the sweater you are knitting up there! I need to find my scarf project and get to work on it. Love all the pretty kitties...thanks for the cat fix and all the awesome good words you sent my way! So is Vicki not GI? They say I am not just very intolerant...Hope you have a great week. I love Smudge's basket, did you buy it online or did it come as part of the cat tree? To answer your question Angie, Casper is 100% white, he is actually called "colour absent" which along with his blue eyes are the genetic markers for deafness in cats. He is 100% deaf. Our black cat Kip has lots of white hairs mixed in with his lovely black fur :-)

Your kitties are very cute (and are probably very aware of this fact.) Count me as one of the folks who didn't know what you were doing in the first picture and had to wait for the reveal at the end. Nice job on the knitting! Happy WOYWW to you from Laura #155 (thanks for visiting me already!) :)

Hi Angie thanks for popping by to visit me. I love your cat photos especially the one in the nest! I thought you were making a pom pom at first and then I realised you need a circle of card for that!!! Belated Happy WOYWW Helen 16

Beautiful cats and China love the colours. I think you have done really well with the knitting I am really slow at it too. I so love that material basket the cats are sleeping in what a perfect place for them to crawl up in. I see they like to share but would prefer to have it to themselves.
