Friday Smiles ...Boxes and Beans ....Feline Style ..

Most of you know how much cats love boxes ….Smudge found this one...seconds after I had removed the contents ... before I even removed the paper packing .... just look at his expression of annoyance, when I discovered him in his nest. I am such a softy that it took another hour for me to remove him. He growled a few times when Rusty tried to steal his box....and yes I do mean growl.

This is Sid …a big softy …whose claws grow faster than any cat I know …and you know it when he ‘taps‘ you with them for attention.
Several of you who have cats, were surprised by Barnaby and the Broccoli…well Sid is another of our veggy eating felines....the older he gets the more he craves them. ...he is 13 this year.

His favourite vegetables are green beans and has been known to steal from an unguarded plate ….but  the other day he was delighted that I had left some in the pot and forgotten to put the lid on ….he was so into them that I was able to leave the kitchen and get the camera, without him actually stopping munching.

He is also one of a small group of our cats who are not Lactos intolerant ….he tries to get between carton and mug when I make a cup of tea ….one day he will get in the way of the stream of the hot water!!!

I hope this brought a tiny smile to your face ....especially if you are a cat lover ...and do drop by to Anne/Wispso at 'A stitch in Time' ... to link up with others who try to bring a ray of sunshime into our Fridays.

Take care xx

PS Nearly Forgot ....HAPPY EASTER . xx

This is a cute post. The only odd thing that one of my cats loved to eat was yogurt covered raisons. I discovered that when I left a bag open on the counter.

Veg eating cats make me smile. Wonder if they would eat them straight off the plants :-) pick you own cats hehehe. Hugs,

I understand your post so well Angie, our bed often doesn't get made at all if there is a cat on it, and Polly is the big growler in our house.
Rupert has this morning had a small abount of poached egg and he also likes the dog roll that I feed to the foxes.
Non of mine seem bothered by milk but there are a couple that like butter.
Glad to see your cat on the cooker, ours have complete run of the house, and we eat and drink cat hairs but we don't care. lol

We haven't ever had a broccoli eater, but Ghost and Rose like pancakes!

And Ghost *growls* at me at night if I move around in the bed too much and disturb her...

Angie, what gorgeous cats you have. Sid is just like an older version of Tom with his colouring.
Two of ours love boxes and the packaging material. I unravel it and they play with if for days until its fallen apart.
Thanks for sharing them

I love the way that Smudge did not want to be removed from his box! Sid is so handsome and looks like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth until you see him stealing beans! Thanks for the smile. Happy Easter! Caro x (#7)

Loved seeing your clever and persistent cats.
Minnie has NO interest in people food but now I think I may have been premature breaking down boxes right away for recycling. Next box I get, I will see if she has interest in it. I would hate to be throwing perfectly good cat toys away.

Gorgeous looking moggies :-)
Tfs and Happy Easter xx

Lovely photos and great commentary. The last cats we had were three Burmese, who were all such great characters. The two older ones hated the newcomer when he first arrived and there was a great deal of swearing, until DH had a curry one night. all three were so fixed on the idea that they might steal a bit between plate and mouth that they forgot their own wars. We could never let any of our cats have milk in any form. it was a disaster if they found any, and we had a running battle with one elderly neighbour trying to persuade her that milk was bad for hedgehogs too. The only milk they ever had was when all three decided they were going to die of cat flu at the same time. I was equally determined that they would survive. After three days of me following them round with a tin of sticky condensed milk and smearing it on their faces, they decided it was easier just to eat and get better. These days, it is dog hairs that get into and onto everything. Thank you for cheering us up today. xx Maggie

I can just imagine that growl :-) Can't say any of the cats I've had ever liked veggies but our doggy Cooper is partial to Brussels and carrot :-)

Wonderful! Cats certainly have their own likes and dislikes regarding diet. The photo of ...someone.. helping themselves to the contents of a pot on the stove reminded me of a cat that befriended me when I was very poor and I had a little studio above a shop, with my bathroom in a shed on the roof. I treated myself one day to a little bit of steak, and had it cooking on the stove..., the cat that had decided to move in to live with me at the time stole the steak out of the pot... I probably had to eat baked beans that night! One cat that I had used to love sweet corn. She was really well behaved 97 percent of the time, but sweet corn was the only thing that she ever would steal from an unattended plate! Pxx

love them all.....

I may have mentioned I used to have a cat that loved green beans.... and none of mine has ever turned up a nose at macaroni and cheese ... they must be like humans.... each to his or her own .....
