WOYWW 115 …and its raining …no pouring, up here….

Little tip for travellers …don’t visit Scotland around the end July/early August and expect a summer. I dread to think how many inches of rain we have had in the past two weeks and if I remember correctly, it was as bad in previous years.

Sorry the desk is still in a mess but I have managed to prep a LO …another from the 'Grid class'… so that is what lies amongst the chaos. The classes are great fun to watch …more new ones this week …may try one that is more adventurous soon …but is that really me?

I tried the printing on material again …using a cotton tape ….and I think I’ve broken my printer now!!

I shall finish my LO in a couple of days but I’m out today. …weather permitting … (I wrote this late last night so don’t know yet … the forecast keeps changing). Hopefully I’m off to visit a tiny costal village that has recently opened a community run café/shop …will report back in a later post.

Yesterday was ‘Back to School’ up here in Scotland.

For Kris it was the beginning of his last year at Nursery but for Robbie it was his first day at big school …Primary 1… He looks so grown up all dressed up.

I think he is ready to cope now, after being offered the extra year in nursery. The 6 weeks holiday gave Vicki and Jay time to prepare him for this milestone event…. 7 weeks ago he would not even try the school jumper on …just the suggestion stressed him …but last week he even let the hair dresser… at last … use the clippers on him when having a hair cut. “Well done Robbie”.

Take Care xx

I get the feeling that it rains a great deal in England and Scotland. We have been longing for some of it here.
By the way, I'm always cheered when you allow a glimpse of your desk. I could have a wall-to-wall desk or table and it would still be untidy--covered in bits and pieces, what I like to call 'works in progress.' Its just that my progress in rather slow.

It has been a dreary summer everywhere for the most part! No dout as soon as the schools are all back, it will be glorious! (and I can take some time off maybe, yippee!) Have a good week.

What adorable pics...school starts here soon and I can hardly believe that the summer has just about gone!!!

It has been a whirlwind here...things changed so much with my Dad getting sick and this seems to take much of my time....

Not much creating here....but it feels good to be back!!

Thanks for the welcome home!!!

Love ya girlie!!!

Do they ever look smashing in their first day of school looks.
It was smart not to push Robbie. How the first year is handled sets the pace for a childs attitude for learning for life. Lot of good minds were stiffled in the early years.
I loved school but many didn't.

What a disaster breaking your printer Angie, does that mean you will have to buy a new one or can it be fixed? I was hoping you would perfect the technique before I gave it a try but I think I’ll give it a wide berth now, just in case.

Don’t the boys look all grown up in their new school uniforms!

Have a good week and ……….Happy Crafting!

I remember my eldest starting school all those years ago - in fact we have a very similar photo. Now he's on the point of leaving home for uni. Where has the time gone? You've had a bucket load of rain, haven't you, been watching the forecasts. Let's hope you manage an Indian Summer up there :)

Aww. Great back to school pictures! We don't go back until Sep 1st. When I visited Scoutland, it was late May, and beautiful...but that was like 2001! LOL! Good luck with the layouts and thanks for sharing WOYWW! -Amanda

Love the photos - gosh, back to school already. Shame about the rain - not a good summer. Your workspace is much tidier than you say it is - Hazel WOYWW #65 x

I have fond memories of Scotland in August! One year, after starting on the NW West coast we moved camp 5 times, including to Mull and back before ending up in Durham to avoid the rain! I still miss it, more so that England to be honest. Busy desk, hope the boys are ok at School, seems a bit early or do they all go back that early in Scotland?

Like the grid idea Angie - and I see you! Am sure the boys will love their new nursery and school daytimes - you three are a wonderful influence for them - look how they're evolving..one phase at a time. Big boy clippers is a huge thing if you ask me!

In what I seem to remember was late August of 1997 we had a delightful stay in Fort William.. It did rain for 20 minutes, then stop for 5 minutes, then rain for 20 minutes, and so on for the 3 days that we were there. The only variation to that was a burst of sleet that came in the middle of one day. In spite of this we never felt particularly cold and really enjoyed our time in what is a beautiful part of the world. A really special time was a walk to the foot of Ben Nevis where we visited a cemetery where Laura's grand mother is buried. There were friendly little robins that kept us company there.

Oh my goodness it is back to school time already! Not having school age children around I lose track of it all. They look so grown up. How many years are they in nursery school? Here the youngest children in classes is 5 1/2 years old. I understand that this year they are having them go full days also. So young. Have fun with your LO this week. Vickie

Aaaah, but I do remember coming up to Peterhead in August and always having fabulous weather when my son was small... then we moved up there... maybe that is what caused it!! LOL Hope it dries up soon and I can't believe the kids are back to school already!! They still have a couple of weeks here... bet there are a few mums that wish that weren't the case...

Hi Angie - great to see your desk with a layout on it. Love the paper that's just showing top left of screen - very vintage. The boys look great - I still haven't seen the pics of my two youngest on their first day yet. And, yes, we have had enough rain to do us for quite some time - for me it's autumn once August is here. Have a great weekend. Elizabeth x #69

Back to school early then. We have had rain too which is a shame for the kids when they are off school. Thanks for the snoop.
