Two Today ….WOYWW 104 ?

I want to wish this amazing family of crafters
a
Very Happy 2nd Birthday
and
send a big THANK YOU to Julia Dunnit …mother of this brain child.

The answer, however, to the question in the header is, I’m afraid …NOTHING. For once, in the two years I have been a part of this amazing group, which evolved from an idea that rolled around in the brain of JD ….my work area is ….TIDY. So all those that know me …will you get up off the floor where I know you must be …suffering from shock.

This tidy thing is because I have moved all my stuff back into my newly decorated room which has become my space for … blogging …. crafting …and sleeping. …my inner sanctum. I still have to make it homey with photos and pictures … sort each area and label what is in the boxes … sort out curtains and put on some new door knobs …when I say ‘I’ with regards to the knobs I mean hand them to DD with a screw driver lol. The room is not very large but I think I have made good use of the space …and best of all … I LOVE IT.

Take a look …it may never be like this again …once I get creative. The cream cupboards, which were white, have been revamped with a coat, or three, of paint and are full of stash in boxes and my clothes…could not bear to replace them … along with my computer desk and my other unit for clothes and the TV …maybe one day there will be Expedit as far as the eye can see.

I would like to ask one question of you who have Ikea Expedit. …

’What plastic storage boxes do you use in the cubes???’

Several people told me that the 12x12 Really Useful boxes are brilliant …without their lids … and as they sit inside each other only the top one in open …but they don’t….or has Ikea changed the dimensions slightly??

I am sitting here listening to an amazing CD of pipe and drum music called ‘Keeping it Tribal’. This is only possible due to DD informing me the other day that I am a total Techno Dunce….and I have to agree. I was asking her what I should do about a CD player as I was ordering a TV for the room …she was struck dumb for a moment and gave me that look that said ‘stupid or what??’ …."USE THE COMPUTER" finally came the reply … I gave that pathetic look and she sighed a sigh that could have extinguished a hundred candles as she gave me the toddlers guide to playing music on the computer.

I am so sorry, fellow crafters, that I am NOT taking part in the PIF …life and my room got in the way …which is a shame as DD gave me a brilliant idea …maybe I’ll make it for my self.

I shall make an extra effort on this special week, to get round to more than the 70 I usually manage … but be assured, everyone who drops by and leaves a comment for me, will get one from me too, if I haven’t yet made it to them already …it may take a few days though …maybe nearly the week but I’ll get there.

Take Care xx

Your room looks beautiful! I think I have these Ikea cubes you're refering to and I bought a plastic box like thing without a lid and fits perfectly. Happy WOYWW!

Well lookie you Angie! I love that you have a new inner sanctum! Everything looks so convenient and (for the moment ;) tidy! My daughter wants to get the expedit too, but since she is using it for clothing too is going with open willow boxes. It's fun how you can personalize that unit (you could even papercraft over the containers you DO choose). Thanks for always leaving a comment for us. I've switched over to chrome for WoyWWing because IE was being pigheaded. Happy anniversary!

I’m making a special effort to get around everyone as it’s a special week this week.

Your new room is looking very posh Angie and Madison (think that’s her) looks as if she’s settled in already.
WOYWW has been a great place for inspiration over the last two years and no one more than you has given me the kick up the backside that I needed to make me get on with my Heritage Album, so I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart.

Happy WOYWW 2nd Anniversary and …………….
Happy Crafting!

Sounds like you've been very busy and your new room looks brilliant. I have an Expedit unit but it's the one with funny shaped compartments so I use different boxes in there. The canvas boxes they make look good in red or navy blue.

A very happy 2nd WOYWW birthday to you xx

from reading your profile I think you will understand my moment of joy - experienced when Mr Doone asked ME if he could borrow MY crafting Grips for a job needing completion in our decimated middle back bedroom,

the room, that will miraculously and without effort emerge butterfly like from chrysalis to become a guest room (ha not if I can get stash in there first it won't)

dx

hope you now have your knobs in situ,

happy 104,

dx

I don't use plastic boxes in mine. I have fabric drawers in a few of them and the rest are filled with jars, bowls, and other interesting containers that are bright and inspiring and keep my supplies visible so I actually use them!

What a lovely creative looking room. Can't wait to see what you get up to in here. My room started looking tidy - for a while, then things expanded and took over. I must try harder to find my desk again. Enjoy crafting to music (I am trying to learn Spanish by listening to it on the computer while I craft) Happy anniversary.

Friday morning and I'm still cruising the list! Angie you are such a mainstay, back bone of WOYWW and all round supporter that the day wouldn't have been the same without you - so happy to see your name on lots of people's comments. Your room is ace - I agree, best use of space..after all, you have to have some clothes, huh! You aren't alone abut the CDs etc....oh no. We have a new (3 weeks) TV...and I don't use it because...I can't work out how to turn it on, really, not a single knob or sticky out thing. For heavens sake!!

Hi Angie! I am a bit late but life has got in the way - actually jumping on and off of planes really - just came home on Tuesday evening going back to England for a wedding today! Huh! Still I want to say that your room is "absolutely fabulous" and sooo tidy I did have a shock! Looks very cozy though and I am sure you are loving it! Thank you for all your comments on my blog and also for all the lovely posts you have shared with us!
Happy 2nd WOYWW birthday!
Lots of hugs,
Cardarian

Hi Shozzy

Thanks for your comments on my WOYWW. The rails are from the ikea kitchen range - not sure what they are called - sorry - but they are designed to hang their baskets or plastic storage cups from (like the ones on the bottom row of my shot) but they are the perfect size for MS punches. EK sucess ones fall through but I have those in one of the spice rack baskets ikea sell. The bars are only a couple of quid each so a real bargain!

I like the new look to your room. There isn't an IKEA within a thousand miles of me, so I have no idea how to help with that. But I know you will enjoy your new space as much as the cat does. And have an awesome WOYWW 104, too, even though I'm a few days late.

Your have a really great new space, it's so exciting to get a new room isn't it. Have fun reorganising all your stash.

Love the new room Angie - it looks amazing. I have similar to expedit but think the cubes must be slightly bigger as my RUBs sit on on top another with the lids one. I got mine on eBay though - It's not Ikea but I think I use Expedit as a search term - love mine now and so glad I went down that route - only have one mind you *g*

You remind me of my Mum when she found out you could play cd's on your dvd player - which is where I mainly do it now as it has better sound than my pc. It was like she'd dicovered something miraculous :D

Thank you thank you thank you for your comment on my scrapbook post Angie - you said exactly what I was thinking. Exactly. And your pages are such an inspiration to me - hugely! I've also discovered a project called project life which also fits into how I'd love to scrapbook http://pinterest.com/pin/32808557/ but I'll have to work around it as the special albums are not available in the UK yet - am sure I can cobble something together :P
