Doodle or Zentangle???

Thanks to Sherry Goodloe (No68 on JD's link) I now know that I might be a Zentangler. I have so much to learn but I am intrigued that there IS so much to learn.
I feel that there is a subtle difference between doodling and zentangling ...or zendoodling as some apparently call it... but whats in a name? .....a lot ....lets face it ...saying one doodles to a non or even a crafty friend can create no reaction except sympathy from some or a pat on the head from the very arty ... but saying one is a Zentangler ...well that could provoke questions at least.

Just thought I would pass this on to all those potential Zentanglers out there ... maybe you know already about this ...if so why are you not shouting about it from the tree tops.

Take Care xx

I never heard the word Zentangler but I must say as you I STILL learn something every day!Thank you for your "comforting" words about menopause ha, ha....and yes Rennie Mackintosh is the most prominent British art nouveau artist - I love his "Room de Luxe at The Willow Tearooms" Glasgow was where he did most of his work! Scortish he is, isn't he???
Have a lovely day!

Hi Angie - How sweet of you to link back to my recent blog post of my nude zentangle *smiles*

Here's Maria and Rick's blog http://www.zentangle.blogspot.com/ and once there, you can click on their website and learn all about Zentangle and how it got started.

I call Zentangle "controlled doodling", but that's just ME *smiles*

And if you get some time, go back to my blog and type in Zentangle in the upper left hand corner in that white search box to the left of the word "Follow" and it will bring up all of the posts I've done on Zentangling since I took a mini-workshop at a friend's house a few months ago. I've been HOOKED ever since!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fab-u-lous art-filled weekend!! xoxo So nice meeting you *smiles*

I've gotta go check out what I am - if anything! I LOVE Charles Rennie Mackintosh. I did a project on him when I was at interior design college and got + points for actually visiting The Willow Tearooms! :-) I love the Art Deco style. Now, off to see what Zen Zone I belong to! Thank you so much for leaving lovely comments on my blogs Angie. Much appreciated. ~Glen~

Thanks for stopping by today and leaving the suggestion for the oilcloth! I have some!! I have a LOT as a matter of fact *smiles*.

As for the pens I use to "zentangle"? I use Sakura Pigma Micron - Size 1 to 5 a lot and some larger tips and sometimes I use colored pens as well.

Have an art-filled rest of the week!
