WOYWW 118 .…Happy Birthday Jay

Firstly..... a quick favour ....Please pop by 'Of Dropped Stitches' on my side bar ....Emma is having her first little giveaway of trimmings and material, and it ends tomorrow.... she would love for you to visit her.

I have been trying to get inspired this week, as I had to make a couple of cards. The tag on my desk is for the front of one for my daughter who is 39 today…oops maybe I shouldn’t have announced that … and I have managed to atleast plan one for gorgeous GS Olly who is ONE on Friday. Thank goodness DD lives in the same house as me, other wise I would be a little late with hers lol

This photo is actually my desk on Tuesday afternoon …

I had real fun playing with inks and stamps and then digging out the metallic rub-on that have sat in different drawers over the years but have now found a place in my crafting heart …not forgetting the little letter stamps I have had for ages and used for the first time only a few months ago.

Does anyone else not see a use in something purchased, hold on to it and then finally use them and love them …and in many cases find they are no longer made !!! …or do you just discard them at the first suggestion that they might have been a waste of money?

Thank you Sue H at’ Karfty Kards’ for kindly gaving me an award for my FH blog …it was so thoughtful and I was so chuffed. I love it when people read and enjoy my ‘Glimpsing the Past’ blog …and to think that it encouraged anyone, gives me a warm tingle.

I am truly useless with links so I need to grab DD or DIL when they are free to sort me out …no matter how many times I am shown, it just will not stay in my head.

For those who were waiting for ‘Day out Part 2’ …I will post it in a few days …and I have a ‘People Watching’ one ready too.

Have a great WOYWW …I shall visit as many as I can …and will always repay a visit to mine.

Take Care xx

WOW I actually managed a short one lol.

Dear Dear Angie-hiya. Your desk does look interesting and I spotted the rubbing wax straightaway. I have masses and masses of stuff that is hardly used and like you a light just pops in my head and I fall in love. Think sometimes we just aren't ready for something when we get it. Mind you there are loads of fab videos on You Tube to inspire us with techniques-saves attending demos and trying to remember how something is done. Have a lovely time birthdaying. Hugs Betty

Have been to Emma's blog, thanks for that. I do save things because I think they may have a use later on, but my problem is that I usually forget where I stashed them. Doh!

I suspect that you and I may go at our creative projects in a similar way--more of them floating about in our heads than actually happen.
I always admire your work, especially on the family history pages, well worth waiting for while you think it through!
I have to hang my head about fabrics and such bought for a particular project and still waiting to be used--I've got a lot to finish before I'm too old to do it!

Love the tags - I too buy stuff then shove it in a drawer when I dont get time to use it and then when I finally do wonder how I ever lived with it! I have a few of those alphabet sets they are very handy arent they.

Thanks for commenting on my blog - yes I did make the quilt (its actually a table runner but clashes badly with my table cover!) - it was just a printed piece of material that I have quilted and bound - thanks for noticing it!

Loving that tag! And I'm one of those who keep hold of things... just in case I might need them. Sometimes I do sometimes (mostly) not!

I keep looking at those rub on waxes and keep getting tempted but I have so much other stuff I need to get to using them first!
Love your day trip - looking forward to reading part 2!

Hi Angie, great post, as ever. The tag looks great. I do, magpie like, buy things that attract me they get put away and are promptly forgotten. I should schedule a regular rake through my stash just to see what gems lurk there. I've got some toppers, source unknown, that somehow never quite worked for me ... however, recently I saw one of the demonstrators on C&C cut some up which I thought was a great idea so will now be able to use these sadly neglected items. Love the tour round Wemyss - lovely photographs. Hope your daughter enjoyed her birthday ... ah, to be 39 again :) Elizabeth x #50
