I am SURE its not Wednesday yet ... wk 45 and counting

I was going to give it a miss this week as I was busy to day ...but as soon as I was free I was drawn to the keyboard and here I am. I haven't done much this week but I have made a start on my FH LO ...the lady is my Great Aunt and I have recently ...through a family history blog ... made contact with her Grand son.
I got so far and was not happy ... so I walked away and had another look this morning. I think I like it now and shall continue with it. I am suffering withdrawal from not Zentangling so I think I need to do some ....soon ... and I think it is my mind wandering, towards my pens and paper, that is the problem with my LO ... lol

Went out with Vicki and her nephews the other day and had a wonderful day at the beach ....and it was actually hot enough for me to catch the sun.The significance of this photo is that this is part of a remaining wall of the Shell house. The owner, way back, around 1907 ...started to decorate his walls and garden with shells and pieces of broken china found on the beach. When my mum was a child in the early 1920's, there was even a bus covered in shells. People would stop and admire ...and even sit and rest in the garden ...as she and her father did when on the way home from the shops. I love walking past it, imagining mum as a child sitting in wonder, looking at all the shells and thought I would show Robbie and Kristopher ....shame so very little survives.

I will try to pop round to as many WOYWWers as possible, later ....please forgive me if I dont leave a comment on every ones blog this week.

Take Care xx

i took my pens and a notebook to my mum's and did a bit of doodling too, you are right about it being addictive; but I still think the one I blogged originally was beginner's luck as I'm not specially happy with anything I've done since!

I remember seeing a shell house in Polperro in Cornwall, they look so great.

There used to be something similar in Inverkeithing where I used to live, always used to fascinate me.

I love the look of the page Angie - can't wait to see the finished result.

I enjoyed both your desk and your post. I'm not a zentangler, so I get too zentangled to do anything constructive with a pen.

I was so impressed with that old wall. And teaching the younger generations about history never hurts.

Sorry I'm so late visiting, and on my first ever WOYWW. Unexpected company interrupted my computer time today. I'll be back, that's for sure.

I always love to see your vintage layouts Angie. You have such a way with them and I don't know many peeps that are as passionate about their ancestors as you! I wore my 'Zentangle' top last Saturday to Ally Pally and had to keep well away from the Promarkers stand! *Ü*. There is a Shell Grotto in Margate near where I live. It's beautiful and a rather popular tourist attraction. Thank you for sharing your talents. ~Glen~
