wk 133 ..Happy Christmas to my dear WOYWW Friends … although I feel more like Bah Humbug

Life is rubbish at the moment …(wanted to use stronger words but thought better of it) …I have missed so many WOYWWs this month…I so wanted to do so much creating and home baking and although I do most of my shopping via the net I do actually enjoy having a nose around the shops …and then there are the few Xmas festivities I really enjoy, like the German Market in Edinburgh … and the children’s school nativities.

Well for me they are all cancelled … So … Bah Humbug. …Thank goodness Vicki will be doing the main meal and most of the cooking.

This cold/virus has hung on so long it is affecting my balance …some days its really bad …others I can cope …and its sucked every ounce of energy too…being a virus nothing can be done ….oh yes and to add icing to the cake …the doc thinks I may have some sort of heart arrhythmia…can I please just add another Bah Humbug ….not that I want to dampen the Christmas spirit lol …I am just feeling sorry for myself.

To make this post a little festive here are a few shots of our mantle piece …all the ornaments have been gathered over the past few years.

…and this is the beautiful bunting I received from LL Jan … for which I am sending another big thank you.

So ladies …and gentle man …I wish you all an amazing and very Happy Xmas and if I’m not back before …a very good New Year.

LANG MAY YER LUM REEK….

(ie Long may your chimney smoke … which means ...live long and be well)

Take Care. xx

So sorry to hear you are not well, life can be a so-and-so at times. Sounds like you may have an inner ear infection with the dizziness so you must take care, spoil yourself and get others to spoil you as well.
Love your mantelpiece, can see there are lots of memories for you up there.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthier New Year.

I am so sorry you have been struck so brutally. I am just getting over mine and was amazed how long it hung on. Have faith--healthier days are ahead. Hope the heart problem is easily controlled. Good thing it was caught.

Can't believe you're still feeling so unwell, what a great shame, I'd be shouting Nah Humbug off the rooftops if I were you! Although given the state of your balance that's probably not a good place to be! Love the mantle, can't believe the cats leave it alone! Sending hugs and festive cheer, I really hope you manage to enjoy your Christmas and feel better.

So sorry to hear that the virus is hanging on and dragging you down so much. My daugther has had a virus/cold for 5 weeks and like you they say nothing to take for it just suck it and see. She can just about manage a conversation on the phone now without going into a choking sphasm so know how you must be feeling. You Bah humbug as much as you like. We will all still be here. Sending best wishes to you for a Healthy 2012.Hugs Mrs A.

What a fab little festive mantlepiece. I do hope you get better soon. It certainly takes all the pleasure out of the pre-Christmas fun. Just watching Nigel Slater as I catch up with my WOYWW hop. Glass of wine on my table. Parcels wrapped and tree trimmed. Happy Christmas. x Jo

Angie, I do hope the virus and its after effects are lessening. I suspect sometimes we fret about what we can't get done and it hinders getting well.
I hope you can tuck up warmly with a book or music, tea and attentive cats and soon regain your health.

The trick dear Gal, is to be very very patient and do as little as you can get away with..and when you feel better, don't immediately think you can get on with it..take it slowly. And most important, forgive yourself, it's not being lazy!!
LOVE the decorations on y our mental..I would say typical of you three...full,of character community and warmth.
Have as relaxing and lovely Christmas as you can. X

Oh, Angie! I'm so sorry to hear you are still suffering from the cold/flu! There is nothing that the doctor can do to relieve some of the symptoms? Is there further testing to be done to see what's going on with your heart? I do hope you are trying to eat healthy and get as much rest as possible.
I'm very glad you have Vicki to cook for the family so you don't have to work as hard when you are feeling bad.
Please know that we are thinking of you and sending our best wishes.
Merry Christmas!
HUGS!!!

Oh my goodness you poor dear! I feel bad for you, honestly! My daughter has been ill with strep and the meds no longer work for her as he battles this nasty thing every year ( a few times in the year) so they have gone to something stronger in the battle. The new meds make her sick (gravol is used)and the side effects are nasty. Come the new year....we are begging for the tonsils to be gone! I hope you are feeling better soon and do hope you enjoy the dinner especially because you don't have to cook!
Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas with family and friends and All The Best for a Safe, Happy and Healthy New Year! Thank you for your comments over the last year, I'm so happy you took the time from your busy schedule to visit - Thank You!

Oh dear, you sound as if you have got a real dose of whatever. I had AF recently and had my heart bumped into rhythm so if you have to have it, don't worry, it is not painful and is less traumatic than the symptoms you are experiencing at the moment.
Hope you are soon well and back on form.
Merry Christmas - Hugs Neet #4 xx

Hello Angie, just popping in late to say I've really enjoyed visiting your blog, and admiring your handiwork throughout the year. It's been fun getting to know you, virtually that is :) I am really sorry to hear what a bad time you are having and that nothing can be done to send the virus on its way - hope you are recovering enough to enjoy your Christmas dinner. My advice, for what it's worth, relax and let others spoil you - you deserve it. Love your decorated mantle - it looks so festive. And,here's to a better year next year. Elizabeth x #46

Hi Angie, just read your comment and I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear that you've developed diabetes. No wonder you have been feeling so ill and not recovering very quickly. You may have gathered that I have a pre-diabetic condition that I have to keep under control - it's a pain for sure but perfectly possible - and it doesn't mean that I have given up sweet things entirely - I can be quite naughty occasionally, as long as it is the occasional drop from grace - you will probably find that you can do the same. I've also become very adept at using the sugar substitutes in baking - there are some quite good ones to be had in the supermarkets. Oh, and I thought the same as you, ham and fish together in one dish, surely not - but my grandson is a very good chef and said I should trust him, and he was right, the combination turned out to be delicious - try it, I think you'll be surprised at how good it tastes. I do hope that now that you have a diagnosis that you will start to feel better and that you will enjoy the festivities after all. Elizabeth x

I’m sorry to read that you’re still not feeling great Angie. So many people I know have come down with it, including me and just when you think it’s on the way out it comes back with a vengeance. Hope you’re on the mend soon hun.
Loving all the Christmas ornaments.

I’m nowhere near really for the big day . It’s turned 8pm on Christmas Eve and I still have pressie to wrap. Turkey’s in the oven though and smelling lovely so I think a nice glass of wine and I might be more in the mood, Lol!

Thanks for all friendship and comments throughout the year. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
