Week 56 .... W not OMWW

I feel a cheat ...there is no photo of my area ... there is NOTHING on my desk to photograph.... well that's not absolutely true as I have tried to start my canvas ....unsuccessfully.

I have made the discovery though, that the pens I use do not like to doodle straight on to canvas ....it seems so hard to do and the flow is just not there ...not to mention that the tips are suffering. Maybe I am naive thinking I can ... I may have to do my Zentangle on to paper and then apply it. Any ideas or help with this problem will be greatfully accepted.

I am also still lacking full Mojo ...it appears to have returned ...in my head ...and then I sit to create and nothing will materialize ... maybe I am forcing it all as I feel I should be crafting but my head is so full of other things ..... I so want to take part again in the WOYWW club properly.

I thought I would pop on a couple of cat photos as I know that many of you are cat lovers too

Honey Pot (HP as I call her) doing what she does best

Rosie ... not amused after a visit to the vet....the Ginger Monster has returned and got her on her back...doing more damage than we realized ... and it unfortunately turned onto an abscess ...yuk

Last but not least ...at last my Peony has flowered ...this was to be its last year before it was to be uprooted lol.Any ideas on what the plant is behind it with the small funny yellow flowers ...it's taking over the garden .... ??plant or weed ??

I am hoping that if I stop stressing about not being creative ... I will find my self creating ...
hope you don't mind me joining in anyway and will forgive me if I don't make it round to everyone ...I will try ... even if it takes quite a few days but it does make my back ache somewhat .

Take Care xx

if it's taking over the garden it's probably a weed, but it's lovely =)

And hug poor Rosie from me

The plant behind is hypericum, it can get invasive but does look lovely on mass, but is not a weed lol. Love your cats, HP looks so comfortable in fact I could join him and poor little thing having to wear a collar, perhaps HP can look after her. Have a lovely day, Tracy Evans x x

I'm just back from a creative hiatus and can tell you that a break is wonderful.
What you are feeling is just temporary.
Aw, poor kitty with the colar. They are unpleasant but effective. No creature can master the ticked off look better than a cat.

Mojo.....lately walking into my room to create feels like walking into the dentist office...I just have no desire to create...it will come back...give yourself a break and maybe try something different....alter, paint the canvas.....anything different....or check out your favorite sights for inspiration!!!!

Wishing you a great week.....I just adore you sweet friend!!!

Tortoiseshell patterned cats have always been favorites--no two marked the same. Our cats concern us almost as much as our children and grand children.
I find that creative slump in writing--ideas churning in my head and I can't get them out and in sentences on paper [well, on the screen, these days!] There is never time enough and energy enough for everything we want to do.

Good luck with your canvas! When you crack it, it will be stunning if your other work is to go by - so I hope you get your mojo back soon (maybe when this ..... heat reduces.

Ohhh poor Rosie but must admit to a chuckle at that photo - if looks could kill! I bet she's thinking 'you better not be putting this on that blimming blog!!' :P

No WOYWW for me so you aren't alone - spent most of the day ferrying pidgies half way round Kent for training releases. Should have taken a pic of my car dashboard now I think about it ;)

Devvies canvas that I did a while back - The doodled bottom bit is actually pp, I adhered the pp with pva glue, flattened it out made sure I got all the air bubbles out. When it was dry it was a lovely flat surface for my pens so maybe adhering plain paper could be the way to go?

I would doodle very carefully onto tissue paper and then apply that to a light coloured canvas, the tissue paper will practically become see thru.

Maybe your Mojo has run off somewhere with mine, probably somewhere with lovely cool breezes!

Its horrible when your mojo leaves you isnt it - my best advice is to put the canvas on one side and made something else then return back to it - usually works for me and my mojo returns when I stop struggling - hope this helps!

Angie,

Anyone who says they never had a dry or non creative spell is lying to themselves and others. We all have those times and each person works through it in her/his own way and time. I find organizing and looking at things always helps me and gives me time to straighten up places I have been less than neat about.

Rosie looks very sad. I sure hope she gets better soon. I know how you must be feeling about now.

I have found that most of my pens won't work on canvas. I don't have many, but the ones I do have are Micro or Sakura. I've read there are pens out there that will work on just about any surface, even gesso, which KILLS most ink pens. I hope you find a way to get the look you are after.

Photo or not - glad you're back! Mojo or not - no matter! Your mojo is suppressed, not missing..just float around thehouse eating chocolate and spouting verse, it'll soon be back..
The pen thing is a bummer..maybe you need a Zig pen or some other felt nib that can absorb the linen surface....or you could catthe canvas in gesso and give it a bit of fine sanding....lorra work!

Angie: I TOTALLY sympathise over the missing/latent Mojo . . . I felt exactly the same for quite a few weeks. Had ideas, got to craftdesk to carry them out, but discovered COMPLETE LETHARGY so had to walk away again. Back up and running again now after giving myself a complete break from it (not much choice in the matter!) . . . hope you feel better soon and can get crafting again. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Now I have an easy suggestion re your canvas problem doodle on tissue paper then glue to canvass using a pva water mix, you can also get round all the corners with out any fuss. ,ovely flower must of sensed you were going to up root her! they do take so long to flower don't they? any way hope the idea works for you

Love Dawn xx

HP is lovely, very pretty markings. They certainly look cute when asleep! Poor Rosie would have been at the height of fashion a few hundred years ago when those huge starched collars were "in"! She would look nice painted by one of the Dutch Masters! Hope the abscess is healed soon. One cat we had got one on the face after a fight, a terrible looking thing, but it healed ever so quickly with antibiotics. Laura says "St John's Wart!" (hypericum);'p-[ ... regarding the plant behind the Peony.

Peter said...

P.S. the ;'p-[ was added by Nigella Stopit who jumped onto the keyboard as I was writing to you. She sends a cheery meeow to HP and Rosie xx

Angie, don't worry about the name forgetting and having to describe things when you forget what they are called. I do that all the time -- so either we're going in the same direction or there are many other out there like us.
