WOYWW 154 …. Not actually my desk …and it’s not Wednesday either.!

Thought I would post when I could…so here it is.

I cant believe that I have been missing in action for so long ….thank you to those who have dropped by to make sure it wasn’t a health issue. I have had a few problems with swollen ankles when my legs are down and I am sitting still but I will sort it soon …promise . The main issue is  a dead computer …who put its feet in the air and gasped its last, a few days before DD was due to save  all my data …grrrr.
At the moment I am borrowing her lap top when I can …its seems  so different ….and I miss my trusty old friend. I am hoping that after my holiday in Inverness, I can track down our local mobile Computer Doc in the hope that he can rescue the data at least and then I need to look into getting something new ….not that my old one was actually old but in the computer world anything over two years is old , and over three years is positively ancient.

So what have I been up to? ….not a lot paper craft wise … although I did do a pre-crop challenge LO.
The challenge was to use the colour Green ….. Paint …. Any kind of flowers. … and distressing.
The green is actually brighter in real life.

I have however been busy knitting. It is all Jo’s fault …I have become addicted to her scarves…..
This was my first ....
I have done two more and have the yarn for actually another three …all are in a heavier weight than Jo’s original …but they work.

…and  this is a comfy jumper …

I changed the sleeves and neck to suit my requirements and I have enough  yarn left to make …yes you guessed it …a scarf to match .lol.
I also have found a pattern for a blanket …a knitted log cabin …based on the patch work design. More of that another day …I have done about a third already.

Last but not least I have been making scones ….lots.

My ones are like American biscuits …no sugar and go with everything. For the non diabetics I have tried adding coconut and glace cherries rather than the normal sultanas and raisins …. And for all of us I have perfected the ultimate cheese scone… so yummy if I say so my self and great with home made lentil soup.

I am off to Inverness at the week end …please pray that the weather improves ….at the moment its rain and more even heavier rain.
I hope you will all understand if I only get round to a few of you this week as I may not have much  computer time… and I have to pack … but when I get back I hope to get back to normal soon … sadly I may have to miss the 3rd Anniversary ATC

Take Care …I really missed  you all…..xxxx

PS. Madison update ….She is doing well …enjoying life … still eating her favourite foods ….flora ….cheese …chicken and MILK????…in fact she seems to have a huge appetite ….although  the growth is much larger,  her quality of life is good still  and she will stay here with those who love her until she shows distress and discomfort.
PPS I hate this new posting system ...took me ages ...and I still dont know what I am doing lol xx

Hi Angie, good to see you back again and somehow coping with everything, even your dead computer - I do hope you can find someone to rescue your data as I imagine you had a fair bit of family history squirreled away on it. Sorry to read about your painful swollen feet/legs ... that's something I suffer from too and it's especially a problem when sitting for any length of time as you have noticed yourself. It's an absolute pain to see my once shapely ankles looking so bad :( Your green layout is great, love that photo and the touches of green are perfect. You've been busy knitting, I've been crocheting - we do know how to keep busy - love your scarf. Hope you enjoy your holiday in Inverness and that the weather stays good for you. Hugs, Elizabeth x

It's so nice to see a post from you! Glad everything is OK (except for the computer!)
I love the "Room with a View'!
You must have gotten the same 'disease' that I have- the knitting and cooking addiction!Your jumper is lovely. The short sleeves are perfect for summer.
The scones look delish!
Glad to hear Maddie is holding her own for the moment. It is so painful to know that a dear one is sick and there is really nothing we can do but love them and try to keep them comfortable.
Have a good trip to Inverness!

Hi Angie,

It's so lovely to see a post from you - even with bad news in. I hope you manage to rescue most of your data off of your computer.

Wow you have been SO busy with the knitting, I love that jumper!

So jealous of your Inverness trip - even in this weather. It's not far from where we stay when we go up to Loch Ness (Drumnadrochit) and we had a day round Inverness the last time we went. Craig discovered frozen stovies and cheese macaroni pies in the Farmfoods up there. How he stays so thin I'll never know!

Hope you have a lovely time and that the weather is kind to you:)

Angie, I hope your PC is repaired or replaced soon and no loss of vital data. My PC guru in Wyoming was able to 'save' everything when one of mine went down.
The cheese scones with lentil soup sounds delicious, especially for the kind of rainy, chilly days we've had lately.
Hugs for your kitty--so difficult when they become very ill or aged--different than dealing with a human loved one, but heart-wrenching. They do trust us so.
As for 'energy' here--it is transient. One 'good day's work' and I need to recuperate--very tiresome!

Oh dear, I hope you find someone to rescue your data. Pretty sure it can be done. I got burned once and now back things up regularly on flash drives. Good luck.
So glad Madison is at least feeling well.
Enjoy each other as long as possible.

So glad Angie that its computer problems and not your health... you have done great to post this from a laptop, I would not know where to start... My computer died a few months ago and I had to buy new and the shop transfered all my data to the new at no extra cost and gave me the old drive in case I needed it in the future... as I was getting upset that I had lost all my lovely pics of my family.. so hopefully you will get your data back.. love the layout... and you have been a busy bee with the knitting fabulous makes.. Computers are brilliant when they play nice but when they don't...GRRrrr! I only use a laptop for all my blogging...and love it! ;D
The knitting looks so good. I haven't knitted anything for years but you inspire me to try and get back to it.
Although I haven't a clue when I'd manage to fit it in but then who needs sleep?

I've just read your post about Maddie...I'm so sorry to hear that you're time together is going to be limited.
I worry about how I'll cope when I have to say farewell to my beloved constant companion Muffin, but I'm just concentrating on all the positive wonderful times we share together now.

Lots of lovely knitting. I have the pattern from Jo too but haven't made one yet maybe when it starts getting cooler! Scones look yummy. I made scones too yesterday although they are very different than the ones we make in England. Glad to see you are back, hope you get your computer sorted soon.

Great to see you Angie, even if it's dipping in and out..I know how frustrating not having a computer is, and also how difficult it is to borrow anohter...it's like re-learning, so it's never for a 'quick post'! Your knitting is wonderful, love the scarves. Enjoy Inverness, long term weather is very non commital, but I'm sure if you're going, the sun will shine.

Look at you! You've been one busy bee. I can't help but wonder if we would all be more productive if we had broken computers. Love the layout and all the knitting! Great stuff!

We missed you too Angie, it's good to have you back, even if it's just for a quick visit. You have been incredibly busy, love all the knitting and great looking scones. Hope the computer can be rescued and very sorry to hear about Maddie too, at least she's had a good life with you and has been very well cared for and loved. Your scones look a LOT better than mine. I read your recipe and it is nothing like mine, either.

You are a knitting fool! Seems you can't get enough of it. Do you ever sleep?

I'm glad you are back. You were missed, although I also missed last week. Happy belated WOYWW from number 5.
