WOYWW 141 …A Week For Saying Thank You

Another week has sped past at the speed of light …but I have to say firstly …

THANK YOU

Thank you for visiting …it was a record number for me, last week …thank you for all your support over my health …comforting to know you care …and thank you for the encouragement over my drawer ‘make over’…its coming along … slow but sure.

The appointment at the hospital went very well although I some times wonder why they bother with appointment times. They did two tests and I then saw the Consultant…and my heart is apparently fine …in fact he was wondering what my doctor thought she saw on her ECG and felt, when she took my pulse …all that worry for nothing really…. could have done without the stress. I do have to loose weight (so hard for me …head has to be in the right place…and its not) and use cholesterol-reducing tablets to reduce the risk of strokes or heart attacks in the future though …yet more tablets…yuk. … so now all I need to do is sort my back out….which might be better with less weight bearing down on it don’t you think lol.

As I said, my project is coming along slowly … but I’m getting there. I have decided simple is best as some of you out there suggested. Here are a couple of sneak peeks of the WIP… my desk is still knee deep in drawers, glue and papers so no change there lol.

Simple strips of paper here …decorated with a MS edge punch …and stuck on using the decoupage method.

Playing with a chipboard lock and a stamp (terrible photo) …still working on this but trying to keep it simple

My scarf /shawl is growing …another WIP … waiting for some more yarn to arrive so I can finish it …the box is a Bargain Homes buy …from thoughtful DD … for keeping the cats away from my knitting …I even knit with the ball inside …and its light too if you want to move it around.

Not sure I will know when its big enough though …hard to tell without winding it around my neck, which seems impossible while its on needles …maybe I should have used circular ones!! …”JO” …”HELP”....pleeeeease

The GS’s made it over on Saturday…brought me flowers and some of their paintings … and we had a really lovely day…it seemed too soon that they were on their way home.

Olly really doesn’t want to talk …probably because he has two brothers who can talk for him … and hates to stand still or be held for more than a second …except by his mum … but on Saturday he actually said his first word … ‘GO’....and I was there.

Ben and Jake were running races … I said … 1 ..2..3.. Go … blew a whistle and off they sped …we heard Olly repeating GO, so I thought I would test it out. I blew the whistle and he added ‘Go’ …I then counted 1,2,3 and he grinned and said ‘Go’ …so I think he’s got it... and he received several rounds of applause for the effort lol

It is strange which first word they say… Ben’s was Cat and Jake’s was Ball. Here are some of the photos I took …A Nanas privilege to show her GS’s off lol

BEN

JAKE

OLLY

Last thing …do you ever have the need for a book which you can dip into while drinking a coffee alone in a café …or sitting at a bus station …you know the times I mean …you don’t need to go back to it and read more ... until you want to …well I recommend this one

Each simple everyday story is recounted over 1 or 2 pages …and they make you smile too. Blog friend Arkansas Patti on ‘The New Sixty’ recommended it to me …thank you Patti. In case anyone wonders …the quilt under it is another QVC purchase of the past …I have five different ones and they wash so well....that one has been in use for the past nine years.

If you got this far, thanks for sticking with it … you deserve a medal…and a big THANK YOU for bothering. … sorry this was a very long one.

Take Care xx

Such adorable grandsons, and how special to be there for his first word. :-)

I know about the weight thing, it is HARD. I've probably lost over 100 lbs in the past two years, but only have a net of 50 right now. It comes back on so stinkin' fast. The one thing that keeps me on track is making clothes that fit me now, lol.

Happy Woyww!

Hi Angie, That was such a good positive post to read. Your GS's are adorable and we both know how precious the time is with them. Your crafting is speeding along both with your box and your knitting. Love both and the scarf colours are gorgeous. Best of all your health....all sounds so promising that your heart is OK and you know you can sort out your weight. I lost a stone (Oct to Dec) just by eating less and watching fats and sugars. Just do it!!! AS Olly says "GO"!!!
Love JoZarty x

Fab hospital news! Hooray for healthy hearts :) I have embarked on a long weightloss 'journey' but got loads to lose. Come on, we can be bloggy buddies and keep each other on track. 'Just Do It' was my mantra at the New Year, and it's still helping me stop prevaricating about things.
Cute g's!! Glad you had fun :)

I love reading your posts, always full of fun, and those grandsons are gorgeous. I am desperately trying to lose weight too, in the hope that my arthritic knees will last a little longer, and allow me to walk the dogs further. We shall all have to support each other. Glad to hear your heart is fine. Have a good week. xx Maggie #100

Great news from all those tests, but what a hassle to have stress out about it. But they do say no news is good new. A small giggle at the news that the desk is still covered in drawers and glue and STUFF. Those projects can take time sometimes. Happy WOYWW.

GREAT FAB news from the hospital...im with you about not needing the stress! It's not a chore to ever read your posts and you never breach WOYWW protocol, so do not worry about that! Oh the boys are growing so well, and look at Olly..what joy. Im deeply impressed by the knitting and LOVE the colour. Also, I know this is a bit obvious, but doesn't that punched border look completely different on the two different papers...how fab.

Happy to hear the good news from the consultant. I think you are right about the weight loss helping your knees.

I am currently dieting...it is hard...some days are easier than others.

You might be able to make a lark and a new blog out of it. Something like Hearty but Healthy Soups and Salads!

So glad everything is fine, a quick way to loose some weight is to cut out half of your cups of tea/coffee/pop and replace it with water and add on a couple extra drinks of water, you will be amazed.

Oh, I so identify with the losing weight thing ... it is so, so difficult. After all, we do have to eat to stay alive, it's not an option. I've struggled to lose 2 stone, proving that I can do it, but now I've stalled and I really could do to lose another stone or two ... so good luck and I hope your back improves too.

Your grandsons are all gorgeous. My son's first word was 'nein' - the German for 'no' which I believe is the most common first word a baby learns, so Olly is already bucking the trend.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

I so am with you on the losing weight :) And how annoying that you had all that worry and then they said that. But good news.

Yay to GS's first word!

Also - good tip about the book - I might hop over to Amazon and have a peep x x
