WOYWW …Again Already? … Yep its.Wk 125

I did do better last week …I managed to visit and comment on 95ish in number order … and the last five …a few didn’t seem to be there when I clicked on them. …and I may have missed one or two by clicking off, thinking my comment had registered, when I should have verified it …hope I am forgiven for those that I missed.

Now down to business …WOYWW … well its still Tuesday technically.

I really have the paint bug …I had to play some more …this time on a canvas. The background I created last week has been filed away …and is still awaiting a flash of inspiration …probably a LO.

This week …using the same initial technique of streaking my paint and bubble wrap …I have added extra dabs of colour ... and stamping. I really could not get it to work at first …even though I had used Gesso to seal the canvas and then I remembered someone saying that one should stamp on tissue and apply it to the canvas with PVA or Modge Podge …and it worked…does any one have other tips for stamping onto a canvas ?

Hope fully I will be able to show you the finished canvas next week.... I am so enjoying this form of creating.

I may not manage so many visits this week, as I tend to pay the price …either a sore back or a swollen ankle …the later this time.

Now all I have to do is move everything off my bed so I can get in it lol

Will be around as many as I can tomorrow... Night Night

Take Care xx

Love your canvas - looks so much fun to do. I have a 12x12 canvas and 5 smaller ones in a pile waiting to be started - thing is I have had them years now! maybe one day!! Well done on visiting so many desks last week - I failed miserably and only managed about 30 - oh well its still all very inspiring no matter how many you manage isnt it! Have a great week.

Love that canvas, what great results!
I visited more than I commented on, time ran out on me... and this week - well apart from this morning, probably a no-no.

Like to play with all these paints. Love the warm colours and the stamps you've used. I'm sorry, but I don't have any experience with canvas so I can't give you any suggestions. I can't wait to see the finished project next week. Happy WOYWW. xFranka

No tips for the canvas, but looking good so far!

Interesting techniques as usual!
We may work in totally different media, but our work areas have one thing in common. The Coffee (or tea) Mug!!! Just can't create without it!

That canvas looks wonderful so far, and I can't wait to see the final result. Glad you are having such fun.

Hello - I think sanding down the gesso after you have sealed it can help (give a smoother surface for stamping on and all that). Blooming good memory you have there.

Happy Wednesday! I seem to remember seeing / hearing something about not using an acrylic block when you are working on uneven surfaces like canvas because it doesn't allow you to really push it down into the grooves and wiggle it so much. Haven't tried it myself though!

I've got a picture of you in my head really enjoying swooshing that paint and colour around!! It's wonderful, the colours are so vibrant. More power to your elbow, may there be many more mad canvases to come :)

To stamp on canvas I use acrylic paint rather than ink. Dab it on a bit of paper to take off the excess. Also with those bendy flexible ones that you would put on a block - don't! just use your fingers to aplly it you can smooth the back of it easier that way - where the canvas is flexible the block wont let you do that. (I'm no expert, this is just what I've found works for me.)

I am so PLEASED to see you using paint again. Can't wait to see it finished! Just uploaded a canvas myself :D

Gorgeous vibrant canvas! Stamping on canvas - if you support the back of the canvas it will help (Phone book etc.) If it's slightly uneven, use the stamp without an acrylic block. Archival ink works better on gesso than distress ink (the gesso acts as a resist) but you can stamp with water-based on top of acrylic paint. If you stamp with acrylic paint, you need to wash the stamp immediately after use, as it dries on - fast!! I adore messing around with gesso and acrylics and other stuff - printing with bubble wrap is fun!

I wish I could get paints and do just what you have done... but mine always look so wishy washy...
I'm trying to figure out how blog hopping makes your ankle hurt... I can understand the back bit.... but unless you need to pedal to wind up the pc... the ankle pain is a mystery to me!! LOL

Hi Angie, me again! Thanks for the lovely comment on my blog. Yes, quite busy - need to get on - the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak unfortunately!! I'm thinking of getting some canvases, too.

I know what you mean about dashing along and clicking but then wondering if word verification came up or not - happens to me too.
I like adding texture to my canvas - scrumpled tissue paper, bits of hessian, etc. I just love texture! Often I work with acrylic paint and then I can get some texture into it with the brush, can also do this with gesso but where it becomes difficult to stamp on afterwards I usually stamp on tissue and add it.
Oops, nearly forgot - crackle paint too.
Only just had my WOYWW posted as I have been away and now am hoping someone can guess where I have been - little prize for the first to do it. Hugs, Neet #133

It takes SO much time to visit everyone, doesn't it? That's why I am SO late! lol

Sorry so late....trying to visit so many and I have the same problems as you. I click off only to realize there is a verification and I have to start over. Argh! Your canvas looks great and the colours are awesome. So fun to experiment isn't it? Have a great weekend!

Hi Angie
thanks for the comment and your understanding of the break. I don't really get depression but as you say the world does get you down now and again, especially when you can remember what it was like.
I LOVE those little rascals, so nice to be able to carry them around.
